Opportunities From: City of Fort Worth Volunteer Programs

The School Green Teams program focuses on teaching students the importance of sustainability and taking care of the environment. A team is made up of someone 18 years or older and at least one student. The team will compete with other School Green Teams across Fort Worth for the school year by completing activities from an activity page provided by the KFWB team. Each activity is worth points and the team with the most points at the end of the school year wins a prize. Teams can submit their progress on the School Green Teams webpage to accumulate points. 

Examples of Activities: 

Lead 8 Litter Pickups at your school - 250 pointsMake or Maintain a Pollinator Garden - 100 PointsHost an American Recycles Day Event - 50 PointsNature Walk - 25 Points

There are activities for every age group. All public, private, charter, and homeschools are encouraged to sign up.

Adopt-A-Spot is a volunteer program for individuals or groups that want to take pride and ownership in their own part of Fort Worth by picking up litter at your very own spot and making it beautiful! 

Litter cleanups are encouraged to happen at least six times each year (every other month). We strongly recommend monthly cleanups and additional cleanups, as needed, to keep your site looking its best.

You must have an APPROVED Adopt-A-Spot agreement with Keep Fort Worth Beautiful (KFWB) to log hours in the KFWB Adopt-A-Spot (Litter Only) Opportunity.

After your cleanup, please remember to fill out the Adopt-A-Spot Opportunity Results Form so we can track how much litter is being removed in Fort Worth, Texas!   

The Volunteer-led Cleanup Program focuses on allowing volunteers to have the flexibility to organize a cleanup in their community on their schedule with support from Keep Fort Worth Beautiful by providing free cleanup supplies to all its participants.

Organize a Litter Cleanup

Keep Fort Worth Beautiful supports volunteers by providing them with trash bags and gloves, which helps in their efforts to clean litter and have a positive impact on their community.

KFWB typically provides the following supplies for a standard two-hour cleanup:

One bag per adult volunteerOne bag per two youth volunteersGloves for all volunteersEquipment to help any volunteers who are elderly or who have disabilities (available upon request)

Please request supplies at least one week in advance of your cleanup to guarantee that they are ready on time. Click HERE to request supplies. 

After submitting the supply request, you will receive an email from staff with supply pickup information.
