FOSTERS: March into a Forever Home | Cuddly Adoption Event

Calling all foster parents! Join us at the Cuddly Walmart Adoption Event on Friday, March 6 and help our foster pets find their forever homes. This is a great opportunity to showcase your foster animals to the public and give them a chance to be adopted!

Requirements for participating pets:

Must be up-to-date on vaccines

Spayed or neutered

Dog- and people-friendly

Bring your foster pets, share their stories, and help them meet potential adopters in a fun, community setting. Our team will be on hand to assist and ensure a smooth event for both pets and foster families.

Join us for Bow, Wow, Meow, a community education event designed to prepare fosters and interested community members for the upcoming kitten and puppy season hosted this year at the Chisolm Trail Community Center.

This event will focus on the importance of fostering neonate puppies and kittens and the critical role foster homes play in saving their lives during peak intake months. Attendees will learn the basics of caring for neonates, what to expect during the season, and how even short-term fostering can make a meaningful impact.

What to expect:

A short training on caring for neonate puppies and kittens

Education on why fostering babies is essential during kitten and puppy season

Games, raffles, and prizes

Light refreshments

Opportunities to connect with staff and experienced foster families

This event is open to current fosters and community members interested in learning more about fostering. Whether you are looking to foster for the first time or expand your skills, this is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and get involved.

Together, we can prepare for kitten and puppy season and ensure our most vulnerable animals get the care they need to thrive.

FOSTERS: Fetch a Forever Home | Hollywood Feed Adoption Event

Calling all foster parents! Join us at our Hollywood Feed Adoption Event and help your foster pets find their forever homes. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your foster animals to the community, share their stories, and connect them with potential adopters in a fun, welcoming setting.

Dog- and people-friendly

Bring your foster pets, tell us all about their personalities, and help them shine! Our team from the City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter will be on-site to support you and ensure a smooth, successful event for both pets and foster families.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your foster animals to the community, share their stories, and connect them with potential adopters in a fun, welcoming setting.

Earth Party 2026 – Dog Adoption Event

It’s Earth Party 2026, and we’re celebrating in the best way possible—by helping dogs find their people. We’re bringing adoptable pups out for a lively, community-packed event, and we need some foster superstars to join us.

This signup is for foster parents to register their foster dogs to attend the event. If your foster pup enjoys meeting new people, hanging out in a social setting, and showing off their charm, this is a great opportunity to help them shine.

Space is limited to keep the event comfortable and positive for all dogs and humans.

Please sign up only if you can attend for the full event and your foster dog is up to date on required vaccinations.

Types of Foster Opportunities

Transport Fostering

Make a life-changing impact in just a short amount of time! This program supports pets selected for our out-of-state transport program, where they’re headed to areas with a greater demand for adoptable animals. Many of these pets already have adoptive families eagerly waiting for them! As a transport foster, you provide a temporary home, ensuring they’re healthy, happy, and ready for their journey. Your role is vital to the success of this incredible program, and it’s a rewarding way to save lives in a short-term commitment.

Traditional Fostering

Provide a safe, nurturing environment for shelter pets awaiting their forever homes. Traditional fosters care for pets of all ages, sizes, and needs. Whether it’s a shy dog needing socialization, a cat recovering from minor medical care, or a playful puppy waiting to grow strong enough for adoption, you’re giving them the gift of stability and love.

Puppies and Kittens, (Including Bottle Babies)

Help our youngest and most vulnerable residents! Caring for puppies and kittens, especially bottle-fed babies, is a rewarding experience. These tiny lives depend on foster homes for round-the-clock care, socialization, and a safe place to grow.

What Does the Shelter Provide?

Veterinary Care: Vaccinations, spay/neuter services, microchips, and in-shelter vet care.Supplies: Food, treats, beds, crates, leashes, and other basic items (based on availability).Trainings and Resources
