Who We Are
"Working together to secure a strong community"
The Fort Worth Code Blue Citizens on Patrol (COPS) program provides additional eyes and ears to the Fort Worth Police Department by training citizen volunteers to observe and report criminal activity. Trained COPS volunteers are assigned radios and given vehicle signs before patrolling their neighborhoods in their own vehicles, walking, or riding their bicycles. A fuel reimbursement program is also available. Additionally, COPS members participate in on-going training and activities such as assisting with training new police recruits at the police academy and working directly with police officers during special details.
What We Do
COP volunteers drive, walk or ride their bike around their neighborhood and report any suspicious person or activity to the Police. If there is a certain area that has had a wave of crime, they will do a special detail with the police officers and flood that area with their patrols. During the holidays they patrol the parking lots of malls and department stores.
