The Fort Worth Public Library is committed to building a community learners, dreamers, and doers. The City libraries provide, books, online digital media, community outreach, room rentals, and so much more!
Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books—they are community hubs that provide knowledge, inspiration, and connection. Volunteers like you play a vital role in helping us serve the public, whether it’s through assisting with programs, organizing materials, helping patrons, or keeping our space welcoming and efficient.
What We Do
The Fort Worth Public Library is dedicated to serving our communities in many different ways. Library Volunteers assist staff with a variety of tasks that help keep our library running smoothly and create a welcoming space for all.
Fort Worth Public Library’s volunteers support staff with daily tasks such as-
- Sorting
- Processing
- Helping shelve materials
- Cleaning materials
- Assisting with displays
- Preparing program supplies
- Assisting with classes
- Addressing customer inquiries about computers
