BUILDING SENSORY GARDEN TASKS
- Lay weed barrier across entire yard
- Add edging stones to define perimeter and walkway
- Define placement for planters, turf, sandbox, pea gravel, smooth rock, and entry arch
- Lay base/drainage materials turf
- Assemble 2 corrugated metal 8'L X 2'W X 17"H planters
- Assemble sand box
- Dig 3" deep space to place planters in ground
- Dig 6" deep space to place sand box in ground
- Dig holes to place tires
- Install planters and sand box: fill planters with dirt and sand box with sand
- Cut 4x6 beams and build entry arch, attach screw to hold windchimes (arch should be at least 8' tall and at least 6' wide
- Dig post holes for arch
- Mix concrete to place and install entry arch
- Move storage benches to sensory garden
- Assemble bird bath, add water and place solar water fountain
- Assemble poop station and signage and install on south end
- Place pavers
Supplies needed: shovels, post-hole diggers, rakes, weed barrier, measuring tape, spray paint- different colors (bright), layout sketches, wheelbarrows, rakes, gravel, rocks, sand, pea gravel, dirt/garden soil, pavers, stone edging, plastic edging, work gloves, old tires, dog safe herbs and flowers
