MEGA Adoption Event Foster Showcase

Help Your Foster Pet Find Their Forever Family

The MEGA Adoption Event is one of the largest adoption events of the year, bringing hundreds of potential adopters through our doors. This is an incredible opportunity to give your foster pet the exposure they deserve and help them make a lasting impression on their future family.

No one knows your foster pet better than you. You know what makes them light up, their favorite activities, their personality, and all the little things that make them special. By attending the event, you become their greatest advocate, helping potential adopters see the amazing companion waiting for them.

Many adoptions happen because someone shares a personal story. Your experience with your foster pet could be exactly what helps them find the perfect home.

Event Information

• Arrival: 8:00 AM
• Event End: 4:00 PM
• Location: Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall – Will Rogers Memorial Center

Foster parents are encouraged to stay with their foster pet throughout the event to help introduce them to potential adopters and answer questions. You will be able to leave throughout as we will have crates set up. If you are unable to stay for the entire event, that's okay. Your foster pet may remain at the event with staff supervision, but all foster pets must be picked up by 4:00 PM.

Foster Pet Eligibility

To participate, foster pets must:

• Be current on all vaccinations and medical care.
• Be spayed or neutered.
• Be comfortable in a busy, high-traffic event environment.
• Have no major behavior concerns. Foster pets do not need to be dog friendly, but they must be able to remain calm around people and other animals and should not display reactive behavior.

Foster Parent Responsibilities

As a participating foster parent, you will:

• Bring your foster pet to the event by 8:00 AM.
• Share your foster pet's personality, habits, favorite activities, and life in foster care with potential adopters.
• Help your foster pet feel comfortable by walking them throughout the day as needed.
• Assist with keeping your foster pet's kennel clean and inviting.
• Pick up your foster pet by 4:00 PM if you need to leave the event at any time.

Crate Information

After registering, please email fwaccfoster@fortworthtexas.gov with:

• Your foster pet's name.
• The crate size your foster pet will need (Small, Medium, Large, or XL)

This information helps us prepare kennel space and ensure we have the appropriate accommodations ready for every participating foster pet.
