Dish Assistant – Keep Our Shelter Pets Healthy & Happy

Clean dishes might not get the spotlight, but they’re crucial to keeping our shelter pets safe and healthy. As a Dish Assistant Volunteer, you ensure that every food and water bowl, as well as enrichment items, are spotless and sanitized — helping stop the spread of illness and making mealtime a joy for our animals.
Who We’re Looking For
We need dependable volunteers who:
Pay attention to detail and enjoy cleaning and organizing
Are comfortable working with cleaning tools and following sanitation protocols
Can work independently or as part of a team
Want to contribute in an essential, behind-the-scenes way to animal care
Responsibilities
Check in with shelter staff upon arrival to determine if dishes and enrichment items need collection
Thoroughly clean all bowls and enrichment items with hot, soapy water as directed
Place all cleaned items in sanitizer to ensure thorough disinfection
Return sanitized items to the appropriate animal pods
Follow all shelter safety and sanitation protocols

Volunteer duties, access and privileges are only valid for the duration of the assigned shift in which they have chosen on the on-line volunteer scheduling system. There is a 15-minute grace period before and after each shift so that the volunteer may prepare and/or end their volunteer assignments.
