As a Center Support Volunteer, you’ll help rotate pets into playrooms, provide enrichment, spot clean, and interact with potential adopters. This flexible, hands-on role ensures that pets are happy, safe, and ready for connections with their future families.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for volunteers who:
Are comfortable handling cats and dogs
Enjoy working with animals and the public
Can follow safety, enrichment, and animal handling protocols
Are flexible and able to rotate through a variety of tasks
Enjoy being active and engaged throughout the center
Responsibilities
Rotate pets into playrooms to encourage socialization and enrichment
Spot clean kennels and common areas
Prepare or provide enrichment activities for cats and dogs
Walk dogs and assist with meet-and-greets for visitors
Engage with potential adopters to help match pets to homes

PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center Staff member. Activities within this opportunity will be based on the needs of the center.
General Expectations
Check in with the PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center Staff member before each shift
Follow posted yard or room assignments
Handle only one animal at a time; leash properly and latch gates securely
Wear closed-toe, non-slip shoes and follow all safety practices

Volunteer duties, access and privileges are only valid for the duration of the assigned shift in which they have chosen on the on-line volunteer scheduling system. There is a 15-minute grace period before and after each shift so that the volunteer may prepare and/or end their volunteer assignments.
